School Psychologist – Middle School – Reports to Building Principal

Responsibilities

  • Complete evaluations write IEPs, progress reports
  • Participate in Student Support Team
  • Knowledgeable in Crisis Prevention Intervention
  • Familiar with MCAS implementation
  • Lead social skills group and bullying prevention classroom lessons
  • Case management including speaking with outside therapists for students with emotional disabilities
  • Communication with parents
  • Making strong connections with students and building positive relationships with colleagues

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s level required
  • DESE School Psychologist license

School Psychologist openings (Andover School District)

Andover currently has a team of 11 psychologists, 17 social workers, and 5 BCBAs who work in a structured, multidisciplinary manner, overseen by admin who understand the needs of these disciplines (a clinical neuropsychologist). All of the new positions below are assigned to a single school team that includes other peer psychologists. It is very important to our model that no staff works in isolation, and that all mental and behavioral health staff are well-resourced with ongoing professional training and access to up-to-date materials.

Current Postings:

  • Elementary Psychologist: This position is within an emotional and behavioral health program, and part of our family of district programs.
  • High School BRYT Program Clinical Coordinator: This is a coordinator position for our BRYT network program for students returning to school after a medical or mental health related absence.
  • High School Psychologist: This position supports high school level special programming (i.e. students with communication, social, and/or learning challenges).
