Description:
The Fuller Craft Museum offers a unique venue for special events such as weddings, showers, fundraising and corporate retreats. We are looking for an Event Planning Intern to assist the Rentals Coordinator with planning of a bridal fair as well as other administrative duties of the rentals department.  This is a 4 month internship ending with the Bridal Fair in mid-January.
The Event Planning Intern will:

    <li “mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;=”” mso-list:l0=”” level1=”” lfo1;tab-stops:list=”” .5in”=””>Work closely with the Rentals Coordinator to provide an exceptional experience to our rental parties and organize a unique, creative bridal fair experience. <li “mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;=”” mso-list:l0=”” level1=”” lfo1;tab-stops:list=”” .5in”=””>Assist in responding to inquiries regarding rentals. <li “mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;=”” mso-list:l0=”” level1=”” lfo1;tab-stops:list=”” .5in”=””>Reach out to vendors to buy table space at the Bridal Fair<li “mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;=”” mso-list:l0=”” level1=”” lfo1;tab-stops:list=”” .5in”=””>Assist in the marketing and promoting the Bridal Fair, as well as promoting the Museum’s rental space in general.<li “mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;=”” mso-list:l0=”” level1=”” lfo1;tab-stops:list=”” .5in”=””>Assist with the administration of events on the rentals calendar, communicating necessary information to rental parties, caterers, other vendors, and museum staff.<li “mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;=”” mso-list:l0=”” level1=”” lfo1;tab-stops:list=”” .5in”=””>Deliver excellent customer service-is articulate and helpful in order to ensure rental events are properly managed.<li “mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;=”” mso-list:l0=”” level1=”” lfo1;tab-stops:list=”” .5in”=””>Have a friendly and professional manner
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills, computer skills, communication skills, and ease with multitasking are all required.  Applicants should be undergraduate or graduate students majoring in Arts Administration, Event Planning, or other relevant major.  Those with a college degree, but not currently enrolled in a degree program may be considered as well. Can commit 5-10 hours per week.

Fall 2015 Curatorial Internships [The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston]

ICA Fall 2015 Curatorial Internships

The ICA’s Internship Program invites qualified individuals to explore museum careers in an educational internship setting. Interns participate in museum events, support departments with research and data management and get to know the daily activities that make the ICA an exciting and innovative museum. Unpaid part-time internships are available in winter/spring (January- April) summer (May-August), and fall (September – December) depending on the needs of departments. Please refer to specific department descriptions for internship availability.

Over the course of the internship, Curatorial interns learn about the many responsibilities of a curatorial team while participating in research and administrative assistance, responding to standard department inquiries via mail and email, which include artist inquiries, submissions, and traveling exhibition proposals. Interns also assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including file building; library organization and maintenance, and preparation for department presentations. Interns should possess a background and interest in contemporary art and should be familiar with Microsoft office suite.

We encourage applicants to obtain school credit for their internship if possible and will work with universities to ensure proper credit for the internship. International applicants are encouraged to apply; however, the appropriate visa must be obtained prior to start date. The ICA does not sponsor visas for international interns at this time.
