The Myth of Sustainable Fashion

Kenneth Pucker, a senior lecturer at the Fletcher School, had an article published in Harvard Business Review called the ‘Myth of Sustainable Fashion.’

In this article, Pucker writes how the fashion industry says they are sustainable – making clothing that is marked carbon positive or made from vegetables or recycled running shoes. But, all the innovation and suitability initiatives in the fashion industry in the 25 years have failed to lessen its carbon footprint.

Pucker describes how the fashion industry is not sustainable and offers suggestions on how the industry can improve its image and the environment.
