Babysitting 4th Grader (Somerville)

Local family looking for a regular babysitter for our social & cheerful 9 year-old (4th grade) son. He likes playing and talking about Pokemon, video games, Lego, and chess (among other things).

We usually need 3+ hours starting around 5pm. Some Friday and Saturday availability is a plus.

Responsibilities include making an easy dinner (mac & cheese), homework supervision, light cleanup (dinner dishes) and supervising bedtime prep (with some reading). We also have a small friendly dog who needs minimal care other than getting her kibble for dinner.

Located next to campus, no driving or car required. Opportunity will continue throughout the school year and beyond.

Nanny on Fridays (Medford)

We are looking for a babysitter who can watch our two children on Fridays, while my husband and I work from home. Responsibilities include feeding kids (will provide food/formula), putting them down for naps, changing diapers, and playing with them throughout the day. Afterschool Driver (Somerville-Cambridge)

We are looking for a responsible student with a car to drive our 2 girls (9yo and 6 yo) to their afterschool program. 

Required trip: Tuesdays at 2:30pm: Pick up from Somerville school next to Porter Square and drop off ~1.2 mi away at afterschool program in Cambridge (Mass Ave @ Cameron Ave).  
Optional trip: Tuesdays at 5:15pm: Pick up from afterschool program and drop off at our Somerville home near their school. 
Pay is ~$20 per trip (negotiable based on experience), start date ASAP through the end of the school year.  Opportunities for additional trips may arise (e.g., trips to soccer practice in the spring). 
Must be reliable with clean driving record and willing to provide references. Ideally looking for someone who would also be interested in occasional babysitting at a rate to be negotiated.

Babysitting 2 Year Old (Lexington)

I am looking for afternoon care on weekdays and weekends for my 2-year-old son, Julian. The frequency would be about 3-4 times a month, if not more.

Primary responsibilities would be undertaking appropriate creative/educational/outdoor activities, reading to and with our son, reinforcing appropriate discipline, and tidying play areas. We have two cats who are very friendly and won’t require any monitoring. No housework or meal prep required. We live within a 10 minute walk from Downtown Lexington.

Julian is adventurous, friendly, creative, and is a ton of fun. He loves playgrounds, trucks and making new friends.

We are looking for someone who enjoys the company of toddlers, warm and kind with an adventurous spirit. A background in child development and/or experience babysitting would come in handy (though isn’t necessary). 

Requested Hours:  Thursdays and Fridays 3-6 and occasional Saturdays/Sundays from 12-4 or 4-6.

Pay: $20-$25 based on experience.

Experienced Babysitter for Two Creative Kids (Concord)

We are a Concord, MA family seeking a responsible, proactive, and experienced babysitter for our two children, aged 3 and 7.5 years. The job will require caring for both kids simultaneously as well as caring for our 3 year old solo. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with and understanding of neurodivergent or quirky children.

Schedule:

  • Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Option to add evening hours one or two nights a week if desired.

Experience Required:

  • 4+ years of babysitting or teaching experience preferred. 
  • Must have experience with toddlers and elementary-aged children.
  • We would love to support an OT, SLP, Education or Art/Music Therapy student!

Responsibilities:

  • Daily routines: Help the kids get up, dressed, and out for activities when possible. When staying home, facilitate constructive activities that encourage exploration and playful engagement.
  • Support the kids in coexisting peacefully, recognizing their different needs (e.g., an active toddler vs. a more reserved older sister).
  • School pickups on Fridays at 12 PM and possibly on Mondays/Wednesdays around 4 PM.
  • Light housekeeping to maintain an orderly home.
  • Grocery shopping on Friday mornings (when both kids are out).
  • Meal preparation/cooking for the kids as needed.
  • Reliable transportation is required; a clean driving record is essential.

Essential Qualities:

  • Responsible and reliable; punctuality is a must.
  • Calm demeanor with strong intuition for understanding children’s needs.
  • Flexible, easygoing caregiver who prioritizes connection over everything.
  • Excellent at setting boundaries while maintaining empathy.
  • Energetic, curious, and playful spirit.
  • Enjoys engaging with toddlers and bright 7-year-olds.
  • Present and involved; minimal phone use during work hours unless absolutely urgent.
  • A good communicator comfortable troubleshooting with us as a team.

Compensation:

  • $35-40/hour, depending on experience and fit.

  • 2 weeks paid vacation, standard sick days, overtime, and PTO policies.

We are a family new to the area from Michigan seeking a babysitter for occasional after-school care and 1-3 nights a month. We are looking for an experienced and nurturing babysitter with a sense of fun and love for children to care for our daughter. December Morning Daycare Drop-Off (Arlington Center)

Seeking a reliable caregiver to drop our 6mo infant off for daycare during the first 3 weeks of December. We are both school teachers, and unfortunately need to begin our commute before the daycare center is open!

Our son’s daycare is fairly close by, located on Mass Ave. It is a 3min drive from our home or a 12min stroller walk. We would have his things packed and ready to go, you would spend maybe 30-40 min with him to play or possibly feed a prepared bottle, and then drop him off at daycare by 8am. We have 4hr free parking on our street, and the 77 bus has frequent drops off at the end of our block.

No house duties included in this position- we want the hour to be as simple as possible! All his belongings will be prepared for the day, he will just need company for a little bit and safe arrival at his daycare.

Hours: 6:45am – 8am, M-F (first 3 weeks of December)

Babysitting for 1-year-old starting in January (Davis Square, Somerville)

Looking for a babysitter to start in January for my son, who will be around one year old at that time. The ideal hours would be 8am-12pm Monday-Thursday but we can be flexible with the times/ dates during the week depending on class schedule. We currently have a Tufts student working with us but she is going abroad in the Spring. We live right in Davis Square. No meal prep or cleaning. Taking him for walks and hanging out with him doing his activities in the living room and putting him down for his morning nap. He is a very happy baby!
