The Fletcher School’s Institute for Business in the Global Context sits right at these intersections. Where serving the bottom of the pyramid and the bottom line happen together. Where innovation pulls from the bottom up and scales at the top of policy and strategy agendas. Where the private sector—the garage startup, the multinational business, the venture and impact investors—can open up the world and discover new opportunities, regardless of geographic and disciplinary boundaries.
The Fletcher School’s Institute for Business in the Global Context (IBGC) was founded in recognition of the need for a new approach to the study of international business —one that prepares global business leaders with essential “contextual intelligence.” By understanding the many intersections between private enterprise and politics, people and the planet, the IBGC fosters keeping pace with an ever-shifting world and finding solutions to its most challenging problems.

Through our diverse global network of fellows, partners, affiliates and alumni, the ethos of IBGC draws upon insights and informs decisions far beyond the Tufts University campus.
