Ambassador Lamberto Zannier, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities

The Henry J. Leir Institute, the Institute for Global Leadership, and the Tufts International Relations Department invite you to a talk given by Ambassador Lamberto Zannier, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, OSCE Secretary-General, 2011-17.

A career diplomat, Ambassador Zannier joined the Italian Foreign Ministry in 1978. Before becoming OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities in 2017, he served as Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), UN Special Representative for Kosovo and Head of the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Director of the Conflict Prevention Centre of the OSCE, where he focused on political-military issues, as well as crisis management, and was responsible for managing the OSCE’s field operations, Representative of Italy to the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, Chairperson of the negotiations on the adaptation of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe, and Head of Disarmament, Arms Control and Cooperative Security at NATO.  Ambassador Zannier is also a 2015 Recipient of the Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award from the Institute for Global Leadership.
