Academic Educator(s) at UTEC (Lowell, MA)

UTEC has a job opportunity for Tufts students and alumni. See details in the message below:

My name is Rachel Shapiro. I’m a 2016 graduate of the Tufts MAT program. Last year, after teaching high school for several years, I started working at UTEC, a nonprofit organization in Lowell, MA that supports young adults to overcome systemic barriers to their success. Within the organization’s workforce development program, I help participants prepare for their High School Equivalency Tests and support their social-emotional learning. As a passionate educator who was feeling burnt out in a traditional school setting, this has been an amazing professional transition for me. This role has all the parts of teaching I love (building relationships, supporting student growth, passionate colleagues, etc.) and none of the parts I found stressful (grading, extensive prep, etc.). We are currently hiring two Academic Educators to join our team. If this sounds like an appealing opportunity, I encourage you to apply! Or pass this information along to others in your educator networks.
