Holyoke Center School is a Full-Year private day school serving students ages 5-22 with a variety of special needs. Springdale Education Center (SEC) is an approved private school by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. SEC is an intensive, highly structured, therapeutic year-round day school which provides a range of educational, clinical, psycho-educational, behavioral and outreach services for youth ages 5-22. These students are challenged with serious mental health issues, have engaged in aggressive behaviors and have provided a significant challenge to caregivers.

4th Grade Special Education Teacher (Somerville)

Prospect Hill Academy Charter School (urban PK-12 public school located in Somerville and Cambridge) is hiring a 4th grade special education teacher/case manager to start immediately.

There are currently 9 students with IEPs in the 4th grade. This position would co-teach and co-plan with the 4th grade general education humanities and math teachers, and provide some small group support in phonics and math. They would participate in weekly special education department meetings, as well as weekly content department meetings.

The position will be at our Upper Elementary School campus, 17 Franklin Street in Somerville. Our hours are 7:30-3:30. We would be able to be flexible with licensure and could supervise a student teacher.

Middle School Teaching Visual Artist 3D Sculptural, Digital and Graphic Design (Washington, DC)

This is a rare opportunity to bring a new dynamic, talented Visual Arts Teacher to our team for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is a full-time position.

Teaching Visual Artists are responsible for:

  • enabling students to understand and develop an appreciation of the process as well as the ability to make informed judgments in the creation of their own work.
  • walking students through the design process.
  • collaborating with other faculty members, with an eye towards integrating arts into all curricular areas.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art or equivalent education, with Master’s degree in Art Education preferred.
  • Able to teach a variety of art processes:
  • 3-D Sculptural Focus: well-versed in 3-Dimensional art (preferably ceramics, multi-media sculpture, and woodworking) and comfortable teaching an array of 2-Dimensional art processes
  • Design and Graphic Design Focus: well-versed in digital art, photography, graphic design, as well as other various 2D and 3D tools and skills
  • Interest in working with students with learning differences.

Salary range – $55,000-$100,000
