Hello! We are looking for a responsible, fun person to hang out with our kids (9 and 12 years old) after school two days per week (3-5pm-ish). 

Responsibilities: The kids are pretty self-sufficient – we want someone to hang out with them, take walks, kick around a soccer ball, bike/scooter, hang out with them outside, walk into Medford Square, etc. 

Location: We live in Medford near Medford High School and Victory Park. 

Requirements: Enjoys spending time with older kids/tweens. Non-smoker. Up to date on covid vaccine. We have a friendly dog. 

Pay: $18/ hour

Job Description

Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) runs summer programs for students entering 1st through 9th grade. There are two workshops that happen at the same time and a series of different tasks involved with making those workshops run efficiently. We are looking for a summer employee who will be responsible for all of the behind the scenes work to make this operation run smoothly. Tasks will include preparation of registration materials, early morning check in (8AM) each Monday, communication with parents regarding registration and daily updates on workshop progress, ordering lunch, scheduling teaching assistant (TA) shifts and covering shifts when needed, taking photos and uploading them, and other tasks needed to make sure the workshops are successful.

If you decide this is the job for you, you are punctual, patient, self motivated, have good customer service, work well independently and with others, and proficient with email, google spreadsheets, and other basic microsoft office products. 
Salary range is between $20-$30 depending on experience. 

Start date varies in June 2023 but must be available June 26th through August 4th 2023

Math Tutor for 3rd grader (West Medford)

Hello- we’re seeking a math tutor for our daughter in 3rd grade.  She’s kind, funny and smart and is struggling with her math currently.  The ideal candidate will have experience working with kids, a good sense of humor and the ability to explain 3rd grade math in an approachable way.  Tutor can ideally use their own transportation/public transportation to our West Medford home.  

$45 per hour compensation. Thursdays or Fridays at 4 would be ideal time, but we can consider other times as well.

Museum Youth Educator– Royal House and Slave Quarters

Available hourly work as a Museum Youth Educator for the Royal House and Slave Quarters in Medford to assist with curriculum based programs and lead school group tours. Energetic and enthusiastic applicants should enjoy working with elementary to middle school aged students, have an interest in African American and American history, and be available weekday mornings and/or afternoons. 

A schedule with the flexibility to teach on weekdays during school hours is necessary. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds is also necessitated for this position. This is a part-time position perfect for graduate students, those with a flexible schedule, retired educators, and those interested in museum education. 3-16 hours per week. Prior teaching experience is helpful. $15 per hour.

Babysitting Opportunity (Medford)

We are looking for an after-school sitter for our 2 kids (6 and 9) on Thursday’s and Friday’s from 2:45 – 6:15 PM (5:45 PM on Friday’s) in Medford (George Street – just behind the Tufts Athletic Facility).

Basic requirements are meeting kids at bus stop, getting them snacks and assisting with any homework (which isn’t typically more than 10 minutes). The most important thing is to have fun and play as much as possible. A car is required as there are some after school activities we would need you to drop them off at.

Our family is looking for a part-time babysitter to care for our 6YO son after school on Mondays and Wednesdays. The ideal candidate will love to play outside and can help with homework and other activities like legos.
