Spanish-speaking Babysitter (Medford)

We are looking for a Spanish speaking student who would be interested in taking care of our 10 year-old twin daughters on Thursdays from 3 to 5pm approximately (3:30 to 5 if not available earlier), starting in September and throughout the school year. Our daughters had a Spanish speaking babysitter when they were younger, they fully understand Spanish and are able to communicate fairly well although they are not bilingual. They have been asking for someone who could help them keep practicing. Therefore we would like to hire someone whose native tongue is Spanish (or both English and Spanish), who is outgoing and would commit to only speak Spanish to them.

Activities would include playing various games with them -indoors and/or outdoors depending on the weather- and maybe helping them a little bit with homework. They will likely be back from school around 2:45pm but are old enough to go home alone, so arrival time for you is flexible. We live very close to Tufts, about 10 minutes walking on the Medford side.

Pay: $25/hour.
Non smoker please.
Experience with children a plus but not required.

If you are not available on Thursdays but are still interested, feel free to reach out all the same. Tuesdays 5/5:30 to 7pm could also be an option. Please email if you have any questions.

Contact:delpicard@gmail.com, (617)852-3454, ask for Delphine (Please leave a message if I cannot pick up.)

Afternoon babysitting with an engaging 4 y/o! (North Medford)

Hi! We are looking for a reliable & fun loving babysitter to hang out with our 4 y/o son for some afternoon hours each week.

Our son is a sweet, engaging, talkative child- when you are playing with him, you can visit the bottom of the ocean, the surface of the sun, a penguin colony on Antarctica, all in the space of a few minutes! He will be attending a new morning-only pre-k program this school year, so we are looking for some help in the afternoon hours to play with him. He is fully potty trained, and quite self sufficient, we have a good back yard for playing and live very close to a playground/park. The job is really just to keep him safe and go with him wherever your imaginations take you!

Where: We live in North Medford, very close to Carr Park and Wrights Pond.

Schedule: We are looking for 12-16 hours total sometime during Mon-Fri 12pm-5pm. An ideal schedule would be something like Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 12pm-5pm, but we can be very flexible and adjust based on the schedule needs of our sitter. More interested in finding the right person/people than fitting an exact schedule.

Pay: We are offering $20-25 per hour

Transportation: Car not necessary, we can provide weekly bus fare in addition to pay (we live close to the 101 route).

Other notes: One or both parents will be WFH during the afternoons as well. We have two other children, who will both be at school / daycare full time during the weekday. Date night and weekend sitting may arise as options as well!

We are open to splitting the days, so if this sounds interesting to you, but you could only do one day a week, please still reach out.

Please email Meg Cunningham at cunninghammegane@gmail.com or text (914) 715-3469 if you are interested.

Part Time Babysitter/ Mother’s Helper (Fulton Heights/Medford)

We are a family of three about to be four living in the Fulton Heights area of Medford (Aprox. 2.7 miles from Tufts main campus) with parking available at our home. We currently have a two year old daughter and will be expecting a new baby in early September. We are seeking a part-time nanny/ babysitter/ mother’s helper for the end of summer into the academic year to assist mostly with our two year old.

Duties including babysitting, providing an additional set of hands on outings to playgroups/library, light meal prep (snack, lunch, dinner), and general tidying up around the house (cleaning up toddler eating area after meals, tidying up toys at the end of play).

We are looking for a non-smoker who is up to date with vaccinations (including COVID, Tdap and flu when it becomes available in the fall) and has previous experience with toddlers. Both parents have the ability to work/be at home during the day and therefore can be relatively flexible in creating a schedule.

We can guarantee 12- 15 hours a week with the potential for increased hours during the week and on nights/weekends for weekend day dates/date-nights. Ideal schedule would be at least 2-3 days a week between the hours of 9:00AM- 6:00PM for at least 3-4 hour periods.

Pay: $25/hour

If interested in the position, please send an email to Ashley Dellinger at aldellinger@gmail.com with a little bit about yourself, work history and available work hours (again we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate). Thank you!

Before/after school help (Medford)

I am looking for some before/after school help.  I live on the Malden/Medford line, near the small target.  I have an 8.5 yo and a 6.5yo.

My morning need is from 7:15 to 8:30.  This would include finishing morning routine and getting my 8 yo off to the bus.  She can be walked or told to leave.  In inclement weather she could be dropped off on their way to the little guy’s school.  Both schools are in Medford.

My afternoon need is for pickup of my little guy at 2:30.  I will likely be home by 4.  Between they can do whatever they want – come home, go to playgrounds, get ice cream, etc..

A car is necessary.

I will split shifts as long as there is a commitment. So, even if someone is available for 1 shift – please connect.  But preference and higher pay will be given for more committment.  If additional hours are sought, this can be discussed.

Pay is 25/30 an hour.

If interested, please contact me, Jennifer, at jolyjennifer@gmail.com

Babysitter needed (Medford)

Description: We are seeking a babysitter for our 5 month old daughter this summer. The ideal candidate will have experience with this age. Mom and dad work from home but will occasionally need a sitter for a few hours at a time to independently watch baby, take her on walks, play, put down for naps, change, and feed. Baby will be going to daycare in September so this is currently a summer role, but ideally we will form a strong relationship with this sitter for future occasions such as date nights, etc.

Hours: Support will mostly be needed mid-week with flexible hours (usually a few hours between 9-5). We can chat about what works best for your schedule.

Location: Yale Street in South Medford

Pay: $23/hour

Contact: Christa.Villari@gmail.com

Other notes: We have three cats in the home. Also, non-smokers only please!

Part-time babysitter (Medford)

We are a family of five (children ages 6, 4 and 10 months) in search of a part-time babysitter/nanny to take care of our baby at our house in Medford Square. Our two older children will be in school full-time. The most important thing for us is to find someone who seems like a good fit for our family, and our experience has been that education students are a very good fit. In other words, we are happy to discuss the schedule and to organize it in a way that works well for someone who would like to work with us, and for that person’s busy schedules/other commitments/commute. We are all vaccinated and boosted and are looking for a babysitter/nanny who is also vaccinated and boosted.

A bit about our family: We are all American-born and the US is our home, but we have spent much of the last few years living in Australia and Berlin. Our children have been in German-speaking schools/preschools primarily, but our family language is English. We don’t have a TV and try to spend as much time on bicycles and outdoors as we can (a challenge in New England, but we do try). Our son will be 15 months old in September 2023 and he is a happy, independent baby.

Schedule: Ideally starting at the beginning of September 2023 (when I return to work from maternity leave). The schedule we have in mind would be two or three mornings a week, perhaps 9am – 1pm, totaling between 10-15 hours per week, at times when both parents are working. I am a researcher without teaching duties, so I set my own hours and am happy to work with students who have busy, changeable schedules. We can offer work for the full academic year but can easily accommodate travel, semester breaks, etc.

Pay: We can offer consistent hours at a rate of $20-$25/hour, commensurate upon experience.

Location: We live in Medford near Medford High School and Victory Park.

Requirements: Enjoys spending time with older kids/tweens. Non-smoker. Up to date on covid vaccine. We have a friendly dog.

Pay: $18/ hour
