Hiring Mandarin speaking ECE teachers— Arlington

Bear Cub Mandarin Immersion Preschool, Infant, & Toddler Center in Arlington is looking for native Mandarin-speaking teachers to join our early childhood education team in our Mandarin language immersion classrooms. We have had students start with CPT positions, and then transition into an OPT upon graduation. We are also able to sponsor H1b visas for teachers looking to pursue a longer term career path in the US.

We are looking for teachers and lead teachers to collaborate in designing our (Reggio Emilia inspired) emergent curriculum, establish close and effective relationships with our students and their families, provide an assessment of students through documentation, and contribute to cultivating the best schedules and opportunities for both our teachers and students.

** Our teachers must be native Mandarin speakers, have a degree and background in an early childhood related field, and be EEC certified.

English Language Learner Substitute Teacher Needed for Fessenden School

About Us

The Fessenden School is an all boys independent day and boarding school serving 525 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 9th Grade in West Newton, MA. The Fessenden School’s mission is to cultivate each boy’s talents and develop in balance his character, mind, and body in an inclusive and joyful community. For more than 100 years, The Fessenden School has offered state-of-the-art facilities, curriculum, and programs specifically designed to meet the educational needs of boys.

Position Summary

The Fessenden School’s Upper School seeks an English Language Learner (ELL) Substitute Teacher for students who typically have intermediate proficiency in English for Grades 5-9. The ELL Substitute Teacher is responsible for teaching 3 classes of 8-10 boys in English, history and language, being a member of one of the Upper School grade teams, and teaching small group ELL tutorials as assigned.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Teach and stay current with curriculum and 21st century learning
  • Incorporate project based learning, educational technology, differentiated learning and cultural competency in lessons
  • Collaborate and facilitate character education and service learning programs with Upper School Head 
  • Exemplify the School’s mission and community principles, including honesty, respect and compassion 
  • Participate in and help facilitate all division and grade level activities and meetings
  • Coach a sport and/ or supervise sports study hall as assigned
  • Collaborate with colleagues within grade level, division, department and student support services, including the Learning Resources Department
  • Maintain all documentation connected with the curriculum and students
  • Attend faculty meetings; typically on Mondays from 4:30pm to 5:45pm
  • Attend professional development meetings; three 8:30am to 4:00pm and three 3:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Maintain current CPR/AED & first aid certification and child abuse prevention training
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related subject
  • One or two years of experience working with English Language Learners
  • Ability to develop and provide differentiated instruction to meet learning needs of a range of students
  • Enthusiasm and communication skills to engage boys and build meaningful relationships
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control a classroom
  • Ability to perform critical thinking, organization, prioritization and problem solving with minimal supervision
  • Ability to serve in a diverse community of colleagues, students and parents
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, justice, diversity and equity
  • A commitment to boys and boys’ education

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in education or related subject

Afterschool Teachers lead developmentally appropriate and engaging activities
and lessons in visual arts, sports, cooking, math, science, and more for our K
and 1st-5th Grade Afterschool Programs.


Agassiz Baldwin Community Kindergarten and 1st-5th Grade Afterschool
Programs serve local children and their families. Teachers present activities
during community meetings and children make decisions about how they spend
their time after school. Past activities include organized sports and games,
jewelry making, philosophy, origami, gymnastics, juggling, batik, fashion design,
gardening, cooking, and more!


We are located at 20 Sacramento Street, a large Victorian house in Cambridge,
MA with access to a beautiful backyard and art studio space at Maud Morgan
Arts. The 1st-5th Grade Afterschool is run out of the Maria L. Baldwin School with
access to the Sacramento Field and Alden Park. The majority of parking is
available to residents of the city; use of public transportation is encouraged.
Applicants should:
• Have at least one year of experience working with children age 4-11
• Demonstrate excellence in developing activities with an emphasis on
collaboration and community building for groups of 10-12 children

Preferred:
o Be available for the full school year
o First Aid/CPR Certification (ABC provides opportunity)

Teacher Commitments:
• Teamwork: problem-solve with team to support positive impact on youth
and their families, demonstrate flexibility (ex.) openness to teaching all
types of activities depending on program needs)
• Communication and Understanding: share and receive different
perspectives to understand diverse needs of staff, youth, and their families

Schedule:
20 hrs/week from 2-6pm Monday-Friday with additional hours for
meetings, events, school vacations weeks, and Outback Summer Program

Pay: $20/hr

Seeking Middle and High School Teachers

SEEDS is an access organization which provides highly-motivated, low-income students with pathways to independent high school and/or college.  There are three levels: Young Scholars, Scholars, and College Scholars.  

This is the first summer since 2019 that we are able to return to our fully in-person format.  Students and teachers will be at the Kent School in Kent, CT for the summer, and if you haven’t visited Litchfield County before, it is absolutely beautiful!

We have openings for teachers in the Summer Challenge and Capstone Programs, serving rising 8th and 9th grade students.  Classes will begin on Monday 27 June.  Teachers will be provided with supplies, resources, and a complete curriculum.  Room and board is included for all faculty, and you’ll have access to the whole campus including recreational spaces (tennis courts, gym, etc.).

If you are interested in teaching high school or middle school, strengthening your teaching skills (middle schoolers keep you on your toes!), or working with an amazing non-profit, let me know!  We have a wonderful group of faculty, so I can guarantee that your colleagues will be a joy to work with.  I’m happy to field questions or have follow up conversations.
