After school sitter (Winchester, Lexington/ Burlington)

Hello Tufts Students!

I am looking for an after school sitter for 3 children (12, 9, 6) who can pick the kids up from Winchester and drive them to their parents’ homes in Burlington or Lexington (depending on the week) or to appointments in the same general area.

The kids are neurodiverse and twice-exceptional (and sociable and fun) so experience working with 2E kids is a huge plus!   I’m a PhD student at Tufts in mechanical engineering and HRI, and the children’s father is a software engineer.

The right candidate is vaccinated (COVID-19 and otherwise!), a safe driver, reliable, and a good communicator (I prefer text).

Proposed pay is $30/hour with a 3-hour minimum per day, and could be weekly M-F 3-6, or fewer days or alternate weeks, depending on your availability.  If you don’t have a car, we can potentially work something out for you to use mine for driving the children.

Opportunity to Nanny

Hello Tufts students! We are a Melrose based family with a 4.5 daughter and a 2 year old son. I am a Nurse Director at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and my husband, Jason, a biomedical engineer based out of a company in Burlington, MA. 


We are looking for someone to help us while we are in a transition in care for our son. Our daughter has started Pre-K at the Goddard School (7:30am -5:30pm M-F) and is loving life! Our son is in a full time toddler program currently, however, we are in search of a nanny(s) for him to meet his curious and intelligent little mind while we wait for him to get a spot in the same pre-school program as his sister! He’s speaking in full sentences and questions and is eager to learn! He still naps once a day as well! Melrose has great kids activities and programs including a zoo, follow your art, dance/gymnastics at the YMCA, etc. 

Any candidates interested in helping our family should have the ability to drive (car seats will be provided), and full vaccination and booster series for COVID-19.

Start date: October 2022Days/times needed: 730-530pm or 7a-5p; M-F

Pay: negotiable based on experience; raised after the first 90days (introductory period)
We are open to 1-2 individuals as we know these hours may be difficult for your studies or enrolling him in 2-3 days of a program vs. full-time if that aligns best with the scheduling needs.

Afternoon Babysitter (Medford)

Job Description: We are looking for a reliable, part time caregiver for our two sweet girls, ages 4 and 1.5, on Thursday afternoons while we work from home.  We live near the Medford Public Library.

Hours: Weekly on Thursdays, 1-5pm. As of now, our youngest typically naps 1-3pm.

Location: Medford Square, right next to the library

Responsibilities: Engage and supervise play time, coordinate outings like playground and the library, prepare snacks.

We are looking for after school care for our two boys, 6 and 8 years old, Wednesday and Thursdays from 2:20-5:00/6:00 (potentially Monday as well) starting as soon as possible.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Daily pick-ups from our elementary school at 2:20 (you can park at our house and walk/bike to the school as our kids typically ride to school)

2. Staying to play at the playground/play in yard/ afternoon snacks/ drawing / have fun!

Seeking Occasional Babysitter in Somerville

Our family (one Tufts alum…so far) is looking for an occasional babysitter for our 3.5 YO and 1.5 YO sons to cover weeknight scheduling conflicts and date nights. The ideal candidate will love the chaos of two young kids but have a willingness to try to keep them on schedule. Ability to pitch in on household stuff (like toy and dinner cleanup) after bedtime is a plus.
Start date: evening of September 19th (5-8ish) with one prior paid trial run at a time convenient to everyone. 
Requirements: COVID vaccinated/boosted; babysitting references; ability to get to our home independently (our home is close to the Somerville Armory & Highland Kitchen) willing to pay for Uber/Lyft for late nights. Tolerant of loving labradoodle.

Babysitting Position (North Cambridge)

We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old whose daycare lets out early on Fridays. We’re looking for someone to pick them up, walk them ten minutes to our house, and then play with them until we’re back from work (about 4pm-7pm). Think snacks, park, toys. We’re in North Cambridge, near Raymond Park.

Fridays would be the main focus, but we’d also looking for some date night and after work coverage as needed.

Responsibilities will include:

  • daily pick-ups from the elementary school in our Melrose neighborhood starting at 2:15
  • drop off to dance class 1x week
  • help with occasional homework, games/crafts, etc.

Afterschool Babysitter Needed Mon/Tues/Wed Afternoons (Winchester)

Job Description: We are looking for an after-school babysitter for our children (5 yo and 9 yo boys; also have 12 yo and 14 yo girls but they need less supervision) to make sure they get home from school safely (almost always walking on their own), supervise them, and drive to/from after-school activities as needed. We are an active and busy family and the kids love to play outside and do Legos. We also have a big, friendly dog. Will need a car to get here and drive kids but we are only about 10 minutes from Tufts.

Hours: Looking for Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 2-6 pm but we have some flexibility so please reach out if interested for any days or times within this range.

After-School Sitter Position (West Medford)

We are looking for an after-school babysitter in West Medford three days a week (10-12 hours depending on what the caregiver is interested/available to do) for our two daughters, ages 4 and 8.

The job will begin the week of October 3 and last throughout the duration of the school year. We’re looking for someone that will pick up the girls from their schools in the neighborhood, unpack backpacks, do snacks, help the older daughter with homework, and walk them to their activities (also in the neighborhood).

Pay is $25/hour and we’re offering a $1,000 signing bonus (to be split after first and sixth months). Driving is very helpful but not required, as school pickups and activities are all within the neighborhood.

We are looking for Thursdays from 2-6 (parents both travel this day), but we’re flexible on the other two days and could work with caregiver to determine a set schedule. If you have any interest in a recurring job like this, I’d love to talk more. Our girls are very funny, sweet, and we’ve had really great experiences with babysitters and nannies in the past eight years. We also live 1.3 miles from the Tufts campus.
