Sustainable Agriculture Trip to Nicaragua
If you’re interested in sustainable agriculture, Spanish language and Latin American cultural immersion, and are looking for something to do for the beginning of your summer, contact Katie Parker about an opportunity to travel to Nicaragua with Global Student Embassy. The trip spans from May 24th-June 5th, and will provide students with the opportunity to explore the Nicaraguan countryside and cities, as well as develop relationships with local teachers and high school students. Students will also spend time working on sustainable farms at local high schools in Boaco, Nicaragua to better understand the benefits of sustainable agriculture in a community.
The trip will culminate in a three-day, internationally recognized, bio-intensive agriculture certification. Students will come home with hours of volunteer experience, as well as a wealth of new knowledge on what it means to work in agriculture in Nicaragua. Speaking Spanish is not required!
