Job Description: We are looking for a reliable, part time caregiver for our two sweet girls, ages 4 and 1.5, on Thursday afternoons while we work from home.  We live near the Medford Public Library.

Hours: Weekly on Thursdays, 1-5pm. As of now, our youngest typically naps 1-3pm.

Location: Medford Square, right next to the library

Responsibilities: Engage and supervise play time, coordinate outings like playground and the library, prepare snacks.

Hello!  We are looking for someone to assist with morning drop off for our 4 year old son to West Somerville Neighborhood School (177 Powder House Boulevard, 2 blocks away from campus) 1 – 2 days per week.  We are flexible on the days but Tuesday and Thursday are preferred.  We live on Electric Avenue so the school is a short walk.  We are looking for someone to come to our house at 7:30am, finish breakfast, play, etc. with our son and then walk to school to arrive around 8:20am.  Also interested in the occasional Fri/Sat night or weekday evening babysitting.

Description: Our family is here for a sabbatical, my husband and I are both academics. We are looking for an after-school babysitter for our two children (ages 8 and 5). The kids are gregarious, fluent English speakers, get along really well and easy to entertain. Their babysitters tend to really fall for them and we are still in touch with them.

Location: Banks St., Somerville MA

Time(s): Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays (preferred) from 2:15p-5:15p.

Hours per week: 6-9

Responsibilities: 

  1. Pick up from school and walk back home (a 10 minute walk). No car needed.
  2.  Offer kids a prepared snack. 
  3.  Supervise homework, if they have any.

We are seeking an after school caregiver for our third grader in Somerville ( We live off Broadway in Winter Hill).  We need someone on M/W/F 2:30- 5:30 with occasional Wednesdays from 12:00 – 5:00 due to half days.  It could involve an occasional pick up of my sixth grade daughter in town after sports as needed during those hours. If you need more hours we could include a weekend night out too.

We will guarantee hours for you and you will have all holidays off.

This job is about picking my son up safely from school and giving opportunities to have fun with friends or activities while we work.  I can connect you to previous caregivers so you can learn about us as a family too.

This person will have a car.  Responsibilities include: driving, taking son to play dates and scheduled activities, hosting and supervising play dates, overseeing homework.  You must be reliable, responsible and connect me to references that validate your good judgement.  Additionally you must be Covid-19 vaccinated and a non-smoker.   I am willing to give a travel stipend of $10 per week on top of the $25 per hour wage.  My kids have had babysitters their whole life and are used to respecting a caregiver beside their parent.  There is no housework, rather you will be encouraging him to do the chores in the house.

Part-Time Nanny Position (Cambridge)

We are seeking a part-time Nanny who can pick up our daughter (will be 2.9 years old) from a Cambridge pre-school and organize some after school activities. License and safe-driving record required. You can use your car or ours.

After working with a full-time nanny for 2+ years, we are looking for someone to care for our sweet and caring daughter. Hours: 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM. School is a 9-minute drive (or 23 minute walk on nice days) from our house (Somerville.)

Expectations are for afternoons only M-F, 3.5 hours a day. 

  • Pick her up afterschool and take back to our home.
  • Transporting and attending toddler activity meet-ups
  • Unload lunchbox and help make her lunches for the week.
  • There is a whole floor, bathroom, and shared outdoor space available for the caretaker.
  • Fold and put away her laundry 1x a week

Compensation: $23-25/hour + holiday bonus.

We are looking for an after-school sitter for our 2 kids (6 and 9) on Thursday’s and Friday’s from 2:45 – 6:15 PM (5:45 PM on Friday’s) in Medford (George Street – just behind the Tufts Athletic Facility).

Basic requirements are meeting kids at bus stop, getting them snacks and assisting with any homework (which isn’t typically more than 10 minutes). The most important thing is to have fun and play as much as possible. A car is required as there are some after school activities we would need you to drop them off at.

After school sitter (Arlington)

Hello!  We are looking for after school care and occasional evening care for our eleven-year-old daughter. She is becoming more self-sufficient but we would be looking for someone to ensure she gets home safely (walking from bus), provide transportation as needed and provide some homework assistance/support.

Most likely day would be Mondays and/or Thursdays 3:30-6:30 and some occasional weekend evenings. 

Pay is $25 per hour and we are located in Arlington. We have a cuddly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that would also love to provide snuggles.

After school sitter (Winchester, Lexington/ Burlington)

Hello Tufts Students!

I am looking for an after school sitter for 3 children (12, 9, 6) who can pick the kids up from Winchester and drive them to their parents’ homes in Burlington or Lexington (depending on the week) or to appointments in the same general area.

The kids are neurodiverse and twice-exceptional (and sociable and fun) so experience working with 2E kids is a huge plus!   I’m a PhD student at Tufts in mechanical engineering and HRI, and the children’s father is a software engineer.

The right candidate is vaccinated (COVID-19 and otherwise!), a safe driver, reliable, and a good communicator (I prefer text).

Proposed pay is $30/hour with a 3-hour minimum per day, and could be weekly M-F 3-6, or fewer days or alternate weeks, depending on your availability.  If you don’t have a car, we can potentially work something out for you to use mine for driving the children.
