The E. Ethel Little Elementary School is seeking a Special Education/Inclusion Paraprofessional.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support staff in implementing the special education programs and Individualized Education Plans for students

  • Provide physical assistance to students with disabilities as required
  • Provide school-based, classroom, lunch, bus duty, arrival/dismissal, and recess supervision

Special Education Teacher Long-Term Substitute (North Reading, MA)

The J. Turner Hood Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support students in elementary classrooms. This assignment is expected to be from January 3, 2023 through June 16, 2023 (or the end of the current 2022-2023 school year).

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the lead teacher in a substantially separate ABA based classroom
  • Serve as the liaison for students on your caseload which includes completing educational assessments, functional behavior assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, completing progress reports, and chairing IEP annual review meetings as well as progress reviews
  • Collaborate with general education and special education teachers
  • Support inclusion opportunities as appropriate
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians and outside providers
  • Attend faculty and department meetings as directed
  • All other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services

Job Requirements

  • Massachusetts DESE license in Special Education-Moderate/Severe
  • BCBA certification preferred
  • CPI Training preferred

Project Coordinator (Temporary Position) at theTang Institute

Apply to be a Project Coordinator! This is a temporary position affiliated with the Tang Institute, an on-campus ideas lab at Phillips Academy (Andover, MA) dedicated to strengthening teaching and learning at our school and beyond.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide pedagogical support and research for Tang Fellow projects. This may include collaborating with faculty, developing and revising curricular materials, researching external educational institutions, and surveying the educational literature and landscape for relevant projects. A background in DEI work is of particular interest here.
  • Help design assessment metrics for Tang Institute projects
  • Document and capture learning of past Tang Institute projects in a manner that can be easily shared with internal and external stakeholders
  • Beginning March 2023, Provide significant program coordination for the Workshop, a term-long experiential learning project: manage the Mastery Transcript process, support student research and learning, coordinate alumni guest speakers and help lead off-campus learning opportunities
    • As needed, drive students to off-campus research sites in academy-owned transportation and chaperone them for the duration of their stay
  • Provide relevant project coordination for Workshop 10, a pilot version of the Workshop for 10th graders
  • As needed, help with the preparation of visual materials such as pamphlets, brochures, and presentations

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-7 years of classroom teaching experience and a graduate degree
  • The ability to offer ongoing pedagogical coaching and support to Tang projects
  • Demonstrated background in DEI work
  • Capacity to help develop Tang Institute project assessment framework in collaboration with the Director of the Tang Institute and other members of the Andover community, especially the Assistant Head of School for Analytic Support and Assessment
  • Background in teacher coaching and professional development
  • Strong writing, research, and interview skills
  • Strong organizational skills

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • This person will drive students in Phillips Academy-owned vehicles, especially during the spring term of 2023. An up-to-date driver’s license is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, interest in related topics a plus
  • Three to five years’ experience with project coordination or other supportive and administrative roles
  • Basic research capacity, technical experience, and interest a plus

Hiring Mandarin speaking ECE teachers— Arlington

Bear Cub Mandarin Immersion Preschool, Infant, & Toddler Center in Arlington is looking for native Mandarin-speaking teachers to join our early childhood education team in our Mandarin language immersion classrooms. We have had students start with CPT positions, and then transition into an OPT upon graduation. We are also able to sponsor H1b visas for teachers looking to pursue a longer term career path in the US.

English Teaching Flagship (ETF) Scholarship Program:

We are offering 77 grantees a full scholarship of 11 months in Taiwan with a round-trip flight ticket between the US and Taiwan. The program requires 16-20 hours of co-teaching per week in the local elementary or junior high schools or assisting in the internationalization of the universities.

English Teacher Trainer (TEFL Advisor) Program:

We have given this scholarship to 12 grantees during the year 2022-23. We provide 11 months of grant with a round trip flight ticket between the US and Taiwan. The grantees are invited to train the Fulbright English Teaching Assistants, Fellows, Local Taiwanese English Teachers, and international students in universities who are doing part-time teaching assistants in primary schools. Position Summary

The Fessenden School seeks a full-time Academic Tutor November 2022 to June 2023 . The Academic Tutor provides one-on-one support for boys in Grades 5–9 who have been identified as needing additional support in any of a variety of subject areas. Full time Academic Tutors typically meet one-on-one with 8-10 students two to three times per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with individual students in a tutorial setting to provide support with assignments and organization
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the learning needs of a range of students
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, both orally and in writing through emails and bi-annual narrative reports
  • Communicate and partner regularly and effectively with classroom teacher(s), both orally and in writing
  • Collaborate with teachers and colleagues in the Learning Resources Department
  • Facilitate parent-teacher conferences and attend Student Support Team meetings as needed
  • Incorporate educational technology in tutorial lessons and support student use of assistive technology in the classroom
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Attend Learning Resource Department meetings
  • Attend professional development meetings (three full day and three afternoon)
  • Maintain current CPR/AED & first aid certification and child abuse prevention training
