Two great internships with a tight deadline
Here are two great summer (paid) internship opportunities in the northeastern US for students interested in farming and sustainability. Note that the turnaround times for both are extremely tight!
- Sustainability Fellowship at the University of New Hampshire. The purpose of this fellowship is to create a collection of quality unprocessed images, video and audio documentation from around the region and produce some finished video and/or audio collateral to advance the work of Food Solutions New England and the New Hampshire Food Alliance. Both organizations (one regional and one statewide) both seek to transform our local food system over the coming years into a robust, healthy and just food economy. Read the full description here. The application is here and the deadline is Feb 7.
- Hawthorne Valley Farm/Farmscape Ecology Program summer internships. While both of these are more bio/science based, one in entomology and one in field botany/native plant propagation, they’re housed within a small and vibrant research organization centrally focused on agricultural landscapes. A stipend and communal housing on a working biodynamic farm in eastern New York state will be provided. More information is here. They’ll start reviewing applications on Feb 1, although you can still apply after that–but sooner is better!
