Gearing up for Commencement 2021

UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo GrandeCommencement likely still feels a ways off for students who are wrapping up classes and prepping for finals, but the three weeks between now and then will go quickly. The virtual festivities – hopefully the last virtual Commencement – will take place on May 23, and will feature United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi as the keynote speaker.

The run-up to this year’s ceremony shows some signs of the gradual return to campus that’s expected to be well-established by the fall semester. Graduating students who go through the Tufts campus testing protocol will have the opportunity for brief meetings and photo ops with Academic Dean Kelly Sims Gallagher and Dean Rachel Kyte, a small in-person component that will come as a breath of fresh air to all involved.

Details for those interested in viewing the virtual event will be available over the coming weeks.
