Capstone Spotlight: Hasan documents the Rohingya crisis

I was delighted to hear recently from new Fletcher graduate Hasan, who was kind enough to direct me to the final product of his capstone project, a documentary series on the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar and Bangladesh. I thought it worth sharing with blog readers not only for the timeliness and relevance of the subject area but also as an illustration of the different types of work students pursue for their capstones. Many thanks to Hasan for sharing, and congratulations on officially joining the Fletcher alumni community!

Fletcher’s recent graduate, Hasan Abdullah Towhid, MA 2022, has produced a video documentary series as his capstone project on the ongoing largest humanitarian crisis in the world, i.e. Rohingya Muslims crisis from Myanmar. The episodes are produced on different themes, such as a brief introduction and history of the Rohingya crisis; the current situation of Rohingya Muslims in Bangladesh camps and the security threat to the region; the relocation of Rohingyas to ‘Bhasan Chor’ island; possible solutions to their repatriation; the ongoing case against Myanmar at ICJ; UNGA & UNSC resolutions; and thoughts of the international community for a sustainable solution to the Rohingya crisis.

You may kindly wish to watch the episodes on the following link and may provide your views to end this deep humanitarian crisis:
