MIB pre-session, and a return to the office
Today is a doubly-special occasion, readers, as it marks not only the arrival of the first students of the new academic year, but also a big step in Fletcher’s transition back to in-person administrative operations.
First, the truly exciting stuff: welcome to our MIB pre-session students! For the uninitiated, the MIB program has a two-week pre-session course each year on Strategic Management, mandatory for MIBs but open to other degree students with a business focus in their studies. In normal times this group of students acts as a sort of signal flare to our broader community that the academic year is upon us, with new student Orientation only a few weeks away. It’s always nice to see a bit of activity around Fletcher after several quiet summer months.
This year, though…well, you know. It’s been much longer than a few quiet months, and seeing Fletcher physically spring to life again is extra exciting. The return of students also means the return of staff and faculty, and starting today our administrative community begins to trickle back. We’ll be fully in-person by the start of Orientation, and are looking forward to meeting our new students. In addition, though, there’s also a class of returning students who we’ve known mostly virtually until now, so there are many introductions to come!
