Meet the 2022-2023 Graduate Assistants

Time to meet this year’s Admissions Graduate Assistants (GAs), readers! Our GAs are a crucial part of our operation each year, providing support in a lot of our communications, event planning, and application processing during the peak of Admissions season. They also are often the first people prospective students will meet or contact, and they’re great sources of information on the Fletcher student experience. We’re thrilled to welcome Chiara, Gabe, and Taehee to our team this year!

Chiara headshotChiara: Hi everyone! My name is Chiara Fargnoli and I am a first-year MALD student studying human Security and Global Governance and International Organizations. I was born in Rome, Italy but I have spent most of my life living and studying in the Middle East and in the United Kingdom. During my undergraduate degree in Politics and International Relations, I was part of a pro-bono dedicated to providing legal assistance to people on death row. After obtaining my Bachelor’s, I worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN where I supported the development of the Hand in Hand Initiative by monitoring the countries’ progress, evaluating the different typologies being used in each territory, assisting with financial investment plans, as well as writing reports. I am thrilled to be part of the Fletcher community and to work at the Office of Admissions! I am happy to answer any questions you may have regarding school life, academic work, or anything that interests you! Hope to see you all at Fletcher!

Gabe SchollGabe: Hey everyone! My name is Gabe, I’m a first year MALD student studying International Business and Environmental Policy. I’m from Hong Kong and Switzerland, but I moved around Asia a lot as a child. I spent the first year of my undergraduate degree studying at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China before transferring to Tufts University. At Tufts, I majored in International Relations with a minor in Chinese. Yes, I’m a double jumbo (a student that does their undergrad and graduate studies at Tufts)! I graduated after my junior year and came straight to Fletcher through the BA/MALD program.

At Fletcher, I’m a Graduate Assistant in the admissions office and a member of the Fletcher Social Investment Group where I’m working on an advisory project with a hedge fund. If you have any questions about Tufts/Fletcher or Boston, please feel free to reach out!

Taehee LeeTaehee: Greetings from the Fletcher campus, where we are soon saying farewell to autumn in Medford! I’m Taehee, from South Korea, a second-year MALD candidate studying International Security and Conflict Resolution. I studied Arabic and International Studies at B.A level in South Korea.

With my life goal – to make a better world- before coming to Fletcher, I worked in an NGO, the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU), and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) as a development practitioner, dealing with a diverse scope of development projects including education, health, and gender issues. I also tutored North Korean defectors in the Settlement Support Center for North Korean Refugees (known as Hanawon) in South Korea. Last summer, I worked on the Committee for North Korean Human Rights (HRNK).

At Fletcher, I’m involved with the North Korea Working Group (NKWG) as a co-leader; Praxis, the Fletcher Journal of Human Security, as an editor; and working in the Office of Admissions. There are a lot of fascinating charms of Fletcher, but among them, the Fletcher community is a real GEM that I’d like to show off most, which is also the biggest reason I chose Fletcher for my masters degree. Please feel free to ask any questions about Fletcher!
