From the Admissions Team: Advice from Yaritza

Yaritza PenaWe are so excited to welcome our new Fletcher community members!

A piece of advice I always share with new students is to take full advantage of the summer before your first semester to read for personal enjoyment. Catch up on your biographies, adventures, mysteries, and memoirs because you probably won’t have the time (or mental capacity) to take them on in the new semester. I personally have a short list of reads waiting for me on my coffee table including “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong and Barack Obama’s “A Promised Land.” I bet you could probably gather some good book recommendations from the Admitted Facebook Group as well. I’m looking forward to turning pages on a sunny, local beach these next couple of months and hope you all get a chance to find your happy place to do the same. Happy reading and we’ll see you in the fall!
