Another exciting new faculty appointment recently announced at Fletcher: Carlos Alvarado Quesada, former President of Costa Rica, has joined the faculty as Professor of Practice in Diplomacy and as Senior Fellow in the Edward R. Murrow Center for a Digital World. Under President Alvarado Quesada’s leadership, Costa Rica was noted for its ambitious climate change mitigation policies, a robust COVID-19 response, and a commitment to protecting the oceans. Says Dean Kyte of his appointment “I am honored and pleased that President Alvarado will be joining The Fletcher School. He has been an inspiring example of how political leaders can pursue effective governance while championing nature.” President Alvarado Quesada’s appointment will focus on small states diplomacy and add additional climate change policy expertise to Fletcher’s renowned faculty. We are thrilled to welcome him and his family to the Fletcher community!
