Summer admissions events

Far from being a period of laid-back indolence, the summer months have increasingly seen a pretty full roster of Fletcher admissions events. This year is no different! Prospective students should obviously feel free to visit us in Medford at any point, but there are also many upcoming opportunities to meet our staff, as well as current students and alumni, throughout the world this summer.

Fletcher eventAlready confirmed are the series of “Summerfest” events we’ll hold in conjunction with a group of peer institutions. While that designation – behind-the-scenes-office-speak-turned-quasi-official-title – may make these events sound a bit more pool party or barbecue-like than intended, they’re a great opportunity to learn more about Fletcher, and a lot of fun even without a pool or bonfire. Each features an alumni panel, and lots of current students in addition to our staff. Boston Summerfest is only a few short weeks away, and will be followed in later weeks by like events in Washington DC (held at SAIS and Georgetown) and New York City (held at SIPA). For those of you in or around any of these cities this summer, Summerfest is not to be missed!

We won’t confine ourselves to the eastern US, though. Current Fletcher students, who spend the summer all over the world pursuing internships, field research, language study, and other professional opportunities, will kindly be hosting a series of “coffee hours,” which are exactly what they sound like. These events are still in the planning stage, though at the moment we expect to have over 40 of them in locations including New Delhi, Paris, Bogota, Washington DC, Geneva, Amman, New York City, Beijing, Hanoi, Bangkok, Rabat, Tbilisi, Kampala, and Mombasa, among many others. Keep an eye on the admissions events calendar for more details and registration information as it becomes available.

I’ll also remind readers that we’ll continue to offer a variety of virtual events in the coming months, too. Whether in-person or online, we’ll be hoping to meet many of you soon!
