Read MoreHi, I am Sapna, a MALD “super-second year” (we haven’t yet found a good word to describe a MALD student in their 5th semester, all suggestions welcome). Due to the pandemic, some of us who joined in September 2019 took a leave of absence or reduced course load, so “super-second year” basically means I get to experience Fletcher life for a semester longer than usual. I am not complaining!

There are so many points for consideration and preparation for those studying in-person in Medford that the focus here is overwhelmingly on that experience. Today I’ll try to remedy that somewhat by turning our attention to Fletcher’s longest-standing low-residency degree program, the Global Master of Arts (GMAP). It’s the perfect time to do so, as GMAP is still accepting applications for its August start date.

I recently discussed some basics on financial planning in this space, emphasizing the importance of a “portfolio” strategy of meeting the costs of attending grad school. Fletcher scholarships, typically a significant part of that portfolio, merit a bit further discussion.
