Read MoreRegular blog readers may recall a few posts back in early June beginning a virtual tour of Fletcher. Ah, early June, not even three full months into our pandemic-adjusted lifestyles! At the time, I wanted to be sure that incoming and prospective students who might normally try to visit campus in the summer for a look around had something of an alternative option until the broader implications of the COVID-19 crisis became clear. As things progressed and the time horizon of our remote situation got longer, though, focusing on our physical space that no one could access for the foreseeable future started to feel a bit tone-deaf. So to the back-burner this series went.
Read MoreAnother introduction today, though with some added context. We’re so excited to have Laura joining our team, though she’s by no means new to Fletcher, as you’ll see.
Read MoreI always love the opportunity to introduce new members of our team. Henry joined us about a month ago; in addition to the normal challenges of starting a new job, Henry is faced with the added challenge of doing so in a remote environment. It was such a delight to get the recent update that the Tufts cannon has been Fletcherized. The cannon functions as a low-tech message board of sorts for the entire Tufts community, and is repurposed so frequently that it has been covered in an actual ton of paint in the fairly recent past.
Read MoreA plug today for Admissions interviews, currently open for registration on our site. Normally the formal interview program runs from mid-September through mid-December or so, but throughout this summer and continuing for the next month we in Admissions have been offering a regular slate of interview slots, too. What else do we have to do? A whole heckuva lot, actually, but nothing as important as the chance to chat individually with prospective students.
Read MoreSummer is generally a quiet period for application-related activity. That’s fortunate for us, because our annual preparations for the upcoming cycle require us to de-activate the online application for a short period.
Read MoreMIB pre-session begins this week. In a change from the normal routine (a now-standard qualifier, that), it’s not the only game in town. Pre-session is usually a herald of the academic year to come, but with this year’s expanded Orientation, it’s just one of several student activities getting underway currently.
