Why We Do This Work

At the Center for Science Education, we believe that every learner deserves the tools to make informed decisions about their health and a pathway into the STEM+M workforce to shape the future of science and medicine.

Yet today, few high school students are given opportunities to learn about and engage with biomedical and health science. This limits not only their personal agency in navigating health, but it also leads to shortages in the STEM+M workforce pipeline, limiting the diversity and innovation of the entire STEM+M field.

We’re Changing That

Through hands-on, community-rooted programs that center curiosity and real-world relevance, we improve health literacy, spark interest in science, and build pathways into STEM+M careers.

With your support, we can:

  • Expand hands-on summer experiences for middle and high school students
  • Develop and test engaging, standards-aligned science curriculum
  • Build innovative, technology-enhanced learning frameworks that combine career exploration and data literacy
  • Provide training and support for teachers to confidently deliver innovative science education
